Congratulations to Pedersen Regina (Germany) for becoming a finalist in our Banality of Evil in Our Daily Lives Art Prize. This artist’s work will be on display at the exhibition in Berlin in September 2020.

The Banality of Evil in our Daily Lives Art Prize, initiated and sponsored by artist and social activist @SaySay.love, who was inspired by Hannah Arendt, wanted to encourage artists to interpret the theme and relate what they perceive the banality of evil in “their” daily lives and the thoughtlessness of our society.

575 qualified entries from 89 countries that met the submission requirements were posted on BOE social media channels for public voting.

One winner in each artistic category who will receive US$2000, will be announced to the public at the exhibition in Berlin in September.

Artwork Description: “HUG ME” is a full size punching bag made from wild sheep wool made to break the conventions by urging you to embrace what you usually hit. In a world full of social and political insecurity, “HUG ME” conveys a powerful message that resonates with the audience.

"HUG ME" won Jury prize!

Walking exhibition: Northern Norway 2019 | Magazine KUNST

Each year, two awards are awarded during the opening ceremony. One is the jury's award, which in 2019 is awarded to Regina Pedersen for the work Hug me. The price justification states:
"The artist, with his passion for wool, invites the spectator to give his work a hug, literally. It is not every day we are allowed to touch a work of art and it is not every day a work of art touches us in so many ways ... The artist conveys the fervor one expects from a work of art ... The work captures your attention and forms a powerful message that resonates with the spectator in a world filled with social and political uncertainty ... »

My declaration of love to wool from wild sheep. ”HUG ME” mounted on the ceiling. The audience sees a punching bag. My respect for the raw material.
It is the mission of the artwork to get as many people as possible to touch on what is real and experience the truth of the material.
